Eagle Ceremony

What does Eagle Ceremony mean?
The focus of this website - “Eagle Ceremony” - is the blessing of Americana and patriotism that I was offered while sailing in July of 2009 aboard the windship Heritage in the Penobscot Bay of Maine. Many friends and family who have viewed this photo have been amazed that two major symbols of America are frozen in such a “moment in time” salute. It is my hope that you will have a special place for it in your life or the life of a loved one.

    Photographer William BachofnerPhotographer Bill bachofner
Born and raised in a small town of northwestern Pennsylvania, Bill attended college at the University of San Diego where he received his degree in Psychology. Bill became a college professor and golf coach at a local community college from which he retired after 37 years of teaching.
Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to her home state of Maine where he fell in love with the beautiful midcoast region and its coastal outline.
Inheriting the art of amateur photography from his father, Bill discovered his love of accidental photography through spontaneous photos of his family, friends, and sights around him that attracted his eye.
Bill’s first accidental photograph was taken in the lower desert of southern California of a fence and scrub brush along a sandy dune. Today it hangs in the home of his San Diego daughter.
